Overview
The brief.
Volta Studio came to me with a clear problem — they had strong work but a brand that didn't reflect it. Their existing identity was generic, forgettable, and said nothing about what made them different from every other creative studio competing for the same clients.
The brief was to build a brand identity from the ground up — a visual system that felt bold and confident without being loud, that communicated craft and precision, and that could scale across print, digital, and motion without losing coherence.
The Challenge
Connect several activities without a heavy setup
A practitioner needs to explain who they are and what they offer. A visitor needs to understand that information and decide whether to engage. Profiles, content, and services must feel connected while serving distinct purposes. New users should not need to build a complete business presence before the product becomes useful.
the solution
Key decisions
I defined core journeys around creating a profile, presenting services, and publishing content. Prioritising these activities gave the initial release a clearer boundary before more advanced community or commercial features. I designed page patterns that move a visitor from understanding a practitioner to exploring relevant offerings.
The visual language uses typography, colour, iconography, and reusable UI to give the product character without weakening navigation or readability. Responsive screens and interaction specifications supported review with the founder and development team.
Outcome
The work produced a defined MVP experience, interactive prototypes, responsive screens, and a visual foundation for development. The strongest story here is how product scope was clarified before the design became detailed.
